First steps in Cansole

Cansole is your platform's web console — everything in CanMe is managed here. It lives inside your secure network, so your computer must be connected with the Cannector (see the end of the previous chapter) — then open Cansole at your Core Address in a browser.

Logging in for the first time

Sign in with the administrator credentials you retrieved at the end of the Core rollout: enter the email and password and click Log In.

On first login you are asked to set a new password: enter the temporary password, choose a new one, confirm it, and click Update Password & Sign In. (The button stays disabled while the two new-password fields don't match.)

There is no self-service "Forgot Password" on the login screen. You can change your password anytime later via your name in the top-right corner → Change Password.

The home screen

After signing in you land on the home screen — a set of app tiles. Which tiles you see depends on your permissions:

  • Dashboard — your platform at a glance: usage, health, and activity.
  • Access — the heart of daily work: users, devices, services, and who can reach what, laid out on an interactive map.
  • Infrastructure — your physical estate: Cores, Meshes, Gates and their locations, with live status. This is where the next two chapters of this guide happen.
  • Network Monitor — connectivity monitoring and alerting for your nodes.
  • App Store — optional apps to extend your platform.

The top bar is always available: the CanMe logo returns you to the home screen, the bell shows notifications, the sun/moon toggle switches light and dark mode, the gear opens Settings (system configuration, backups, updates, users), and your name opens the user menu with Log Out.

Inside each app, tabs along the top (such as "Main", "Management", or "Configuration") switch between the app's views.

A sensible first tour

  1. Open Settings and configure SMTP so the platform can send email notifications and password-reset links.
  2. Under Settings, set up a backup storage location and schedule — you want backups configured before the platform carries production traffic.
  3. Open Infrastructure and get familiar with the map and device cards — your Core is already there.
